The Moore’s Bridge to McIntosh Reserve Master Plan will guide the future of parks, trails, and river access at the southern terminus of the Chattahoochee RiverLands. The plan will create a shared vision for connecting protected lands, expanding outdoor recreation, and enhancing access to one of the region’s most significant natural landscapes.

McIntosh Reserve has long been valued for its scenic beauty, ecological richness, and cultural significance. Named for Chief William McIntosh of the Muskogee (Creek) Nation, the reserve holds deep meaning for Carroll County residents, descendants of Chief McIntosh, and the Lower Muskogee (Creek) Tribe. Since 2023, a series of strategic land acquisitions has nearly doubled the size of the park, protected additional miles of Chattahoochee River frontage, and established the foundation for a contiguous 4,600-acre greenspace. This master plan will build upon those conservation successes by guiding future recreation, stewardship, and trail connections at the southern terminus of the RiverLands.
Chattahoochee RiverLands Pedestrian Trail Bridge
The City of Smyrna and Trust for Public Land are exploring a new pedestrian and bicycle bridge across the Chattahoochee River. This bridge could improve connections between existing and planned trail systems in Smyrna and Atlanta while creating new opportunities for recreation, mobility, and access to the river. Share your input on project priorities, potential uses, and how this connection could serve the community.
