March Sub-Area 2 Design Workshop

The first Sub-Area Committee (SAC) 2 Design Workshop took place on Wednesday, March 27, 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at City of South Fulton, City Hall. The three SACs are small focus groups composed of local agencies, businesses, institutions, schools and community-based organizations for each section of the River. The Design Team shared the research collected from the Driving Tour site visits, conversations with local stakeholders, review of existing literature, and definition of three sub-areas along the 100-mile project site.

The Design Workshop also kicked off the corridor vision & concept phase that would synthesize an identity for the Chattahoochee RiverLands Greenway by using visioning, collaborative input, community response, and design workshops. Attendees were asked to add to, question, and refine the project goals of Protect, Invite, Engage and Redefine while working over maps of the middle stretch of the river – from Marietta Blvd / S. Atlanta Rd to State Route 154 / Campbellton Rd / Fairburn Rd. Download the complete summary of the March Sub-Area Committee Meetings to learn more.
