Join Trust for Public Land, Adventure Scientists, and Sierra Club Military Outdoors for a morning of conservation, community, and exploration at beautiful McIntosh Reserve Park.
American beech trees are an iconic part of eastern forests, but healthy, disease-resistant trees are becoming increasingly rare. During this volunteer field day, participants will help collect samples from healthy beech trees to support important scientific research and future restoration efforts.
No prior experience is necessary. Adventure Scientists provides all training and sampling equipment, making this a great opportunity for anyone interested in conservation, citizen science, or spending time outdoors. The event is family-friendly, and veterans and civilians alike are encouraged to participate.
Participants will meet in the parking lot near Pavilion #3 before hiking to survey locations throughout the park.
A light breakfast and coffee will be provided.
