June Sub-Area 3 Design Workshop

The second Sub-Area Committee (SAC) 3 Design Workshop took place on Friday, June 21, 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Cherry Hollow Farm. The three SACs are small focus groups composed of local agencies, businesses, institutions, schools and community-based organizations for each section of the River. The Design Team shared a concise history of the River over time and shared the refined design goals and strategies for the corridor vision & concept phase that the group had worked on last meeting.

The corridor vision & concept phase is meant to synthesize an identity for the Chattahoochee RiverLands Greenway by using visioning, collaborative input, community response, and design workshops. This phase sets the stage for a corridor plan with thought to trail alignment, typical cross sections, regulatory frameworks, and the implementation concept. Attendees were asked to draw a preliminary alignment of the trail(s) along the River – from State Route 154 / Campbellton Rd / Fairburn Rd to Chattahoochee Bend State Park.
