SUMMARY:CRK/TPL Buzzard Roost Paddle and Camp
DESCRIPTION:Chattahoochee Riverkeeper and TPL’s Chattahoochee Riverlands are teaming up to host a 2-day paddle/camp trip from Standing Peachtree Park to the Highway 166 DNR Boat Ramp. The new kayak launch at Standing Peachtree/Peachtree Creek is part of TPL’s new Chattahoochee Camp + Paddle Trail. \nThis is a 14.5 mile paddle total with overnight camping on Buzzard Island at mile 9.5. Leaving 5 miles on Sunday. \nThis section of river is mostly slow moving with a few moderate shoals and riffles based on water flow and dam releases. Skill level: experienced beginners at a minimum who know basic strokes and bracing skills. \nSaturday night will be primitive camping on Buzzard Island. There are no amenities except the gorgeous views of the river and the companionship of your fellow paddlers. The island offers plenty of tent or hammock options. \nThe fee is $50 per person to help cover the shuttle expense. \nCRK has a limited number of sit-on-top kayaks in 10ft and 12ft lengths available on a first come basis that you can select during registration. \n  \nRegister to attend here: https://chattahoochee.wufoo.com/forms/wseaqxj1kdsy4t/
