DESCRIPTION:Birds Georgia is working with Trust for Public Land to remove invasive species and restore native bird habitat at the Chattahoochee RiverLands Camp+Paddle Trail Site near Chattahoochee Hills\, GA\, and we invite you to join us! SUMMARY:Chattahoochee Riverkeeper Paddle Cleanup in Chattahoochee Hills
DESCRIPTION:Chattahoochee Riverkeeper is pleased to host this paddle cleanup in partnership with Chattahoochee Hills\, Trust for Public Lands and Heard County Outfitters. \nWe will be paddling 5 miles from the New Riverlands Park to Moores Bridge south of Atlanta. This section has moderate moving water and perfect for beginners and experienced paddlers. \nSpecific trip details will be emailed to you a week before to the trip date. During registration\, participants can select to borrow a kayak/PFD/Paddle or bring their own. \nFor planning purposes\, we will meet at 8am at New RiverLands Park\, unload boats\, then drive to the take-out (Moore’s Bridge Park). A shuttle van will return us to the put-in. We should conclude by 2-3pm. \nPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS\nAll participants must be able to swim efficiently. All participants must be able to get in and out of a kayak easily (i.e. those with knee or back injuries may have difficulty). Paddling uses your core muscles\, arms\, and shoulders. Anyone with injuries in these areas may have difficulty. Please consult your physician if you are concerned about participating. \nAGE REQUIREMENTS\nIf paddling solo\, paddlers must be at least 15 years old. If paddling tandem\, youth must be at least 10 years old and accompanied by an adult at least 21 years old. \nSAFETY POLICIES\nThe paddle will be called off if there is a threat of severe thunderstorms/lightning OR if the river is running high due to rain or an upstream release of water from dams. \n  \nREGISTER HERE: https://chattahoochee.wufoo.com/forms/s1nkbdq10eiojjz/

SUMMARY:Sweep the Hooch @ New RiverLands Park
DESCRIPTION:Sweep the Hooch returns for the 15th year! This watershed-wide day of service is an enormous cleanup effort along the Chattahoochee River and its tributaries. Chattahoochee Riverkeeper and partnering hosts are excited to offer more than 60 volunteer cleanup sites for walkers\, waders\, and paddlers throughout the entire watershed. This event would not be possible without you and all the partnering organizations who help host these sites.
