DESCRIPTION:Wrap up the week of birthday festivities with a hands-on trail maintenance day at Cochran Shoals! As we celebrate the Chattahoochee River National Recreation Area’s 47th year—established on August 15\, 1978—this event gives volunteers a chance to show their love for the park by helping care for the trails that connect thousands of visitors to nature each year. \nVolunteer Activity: \nVolunteers will assist with trail upkeep and restoration\, which may include removing debris\, pruning overgrowth\, smoothing trail surfaces\, and enhancing the safety and accessibility of popular hiking paths. \nWhat We’ll Provide: \n\nTrash bags\nGloves (sizes available for youth and adults)\nTools for trail work (rakes\, loppers\, etc.\, limited supply)\n\nWhat to Bring / Wear: \n\nClosed-toe shoes (required for trail work)\nWeather-appropriate clothing (light layers\, hat\, etc.)\nRefillable water bottle\nBug spray and sunscreen (recommended)\nA love for nature and a willingness to pitch in!\n\nMinimum age for our volunteers is 10 years old.
