DESCRIPTION:Sweep the Hooch is an annual watershed-wide trash cleanup that brings together hundreds of volunteers each year at dozens of parks\, tributaries\, and access points along the Chattahoochee River. \nRegistration for Sweep the Hooch opens Tuesday\, February 14\, 2023. During registration\, each volunteer will be required to sign the CRK Liability Waiver\, which can be found here. This form will be authorized as an electronic signature during the registration process. \nPlease note that while we welcome children\, they must be supervised at all times by an adult. Although a cleanup is not usually dangerous\, it can be to an unattended child. Walkers and waders must be at least ten years old. If paddling solo\, the paddler must be at least 15 years old. DESCRIPTION:The event will explore the vision of the Chattahoochee RiverLands through a guided walk along the Chattahoochee River. \nJoin our volunteers to experience the “before” view of the Chattahoochee RiverLands greenway trail along the western boundary of the City of Atlanta\, starting at Whittier Mill Park\, just north of the Chattahoochee Brick site. We will walk from Whittier Mill Park to the River\, then along the River to the proposed Lower Paul Avenue Park and back. \nThis is an easy walk\, about three miles\, some of it along an infrequently used rail spur. Wear sturdy shoes—it may be muddy and the trail is unimproved. Bring a water bottle. Long pants and long sleeves are recommended. \nThe entire walk should take about three hours\, as we stop and talk along the way. \nTours begin at Whittier Mill Park. Limited to 30 attendees. DESCRIPTION:Chattahoochee RiverLands Ramble May 21\, 2:30pm-5:00\nWhittier Mill to Lower Paul Avenue\, and Back — about 3 miles\n\n\nThe event will explore the vision of the Chattahoochee RiverLands through a guided walk along the Chattahoochee River. \nJoin our volunteers to experience the “before” view of the Chattahoochee RiverLands greenway trail along the western boundary of the City of Atlanta\, starting at Whittier Mill Park\, just north of the Chattahoochee Brick site. We will walk from Whittier Mill Park to the River\, then along the River to the proposed Lower Paul Avenue Park and back.  \nThis is an easy walk\, about three miles\, some of it along an infrequently used rail spur. Wear sturdy shoes—it may be muddy and the trail is unimproved. Bring a water bottle. Long pants and long sleeves are recommended. \nThe entire walk should take about three hours\, as we stop and talk along the way. \nTours begin at Whittier Mill Park. Limited to 30 attendees.
