DESCRIPTION:Join us for a rewarding and meaningful day of community service in the Wildlife Sanctuary! In partnership with Birds Georgia\, we will be completing varying tasks including: \n– Removing invasive species: Help us remove invasive plants that hinder the growth of native flora and harm local wildlife. \n– Native plantings: Assist in planting and nurturing native plants to create a welcoming habitat for wildlife. \n– Supporting habitat restoration: Learn about the importance of biodiversity and contribute to establishing a sanctuary for birds\, bees\, butterflies\, and other local fauna. \nWhy Volunteer? \n– Your efforts will directly contribute to the health and beauty of our wildlife sanctuary. \n– Gain valuable knowledge about invasive species\, native plants\, and wildlife habitats. \n– Connect with fellow volunteers who share your passion for nature and conservation! \nWhat to Bring: \n– Gardening gloves \n– Comfortable outdoor clothing \n– A reusable water bottle \n– A positive attitude and a willingness to get your hands dirty! \nThis volunteer workday is in partnership with Birds GA\, a nonprofit organization dedicated to the conservation and habitat protection of bird species in Georgia. \nWe welcome volunteers of all ages and skill levels. Whether you’re an experienced gardener or just eager to lend a hand\, your participation is greatly appreciated. \nThis event will take place rain or shine\, however it will be rescheduled in the event of severe weather including thunderstorms or flood warnings. DESCRIPTION:Celebrate the 47th birthday of the Chattahoochee River National Recreation Area with a gift of service! Established on August 15\, 1978\, this nationally recognized park is a vital green space in metro Atlanta—and now it’s your chance to show it some love. Join us for volunteer events throughout the week of August 11th – 16th to celebrate the Chattahoochee River National Recreation Area’s Birthday! \nWhat We’ll Provide: \n\nTrash bags\nGloves (sizes available for youth and adults)\nLitter grabbers (limited supply)\n\nWhat to Bring / Wear: \n\nClosed-toe shoes (required for trail work)\nWeather-appropriate clothing (light layers\, hat\, etc.)\nRefillable water bottle\nBug spray and sunscreen (recommended)\nA love for nature and a willingness to pitch in!\n\nMinimum age for our volunteers is 10 years old.
