DESCRIPTION:Chattahoochee Riverkeeper is pleased to host this paddle cleanup in partnership with Friends of Chattahoochee Bend State Park and McIntosh Reserve Park. \nWe will be paddling from McIntosh Reserve Park in Carroll County to Chattahoochee Bend State Park. This 5-mile section of river is mostly slow moving with a few moderate riffles. \nSpecific trip details\, including the address of where we’ll be meeting\, will be emailed to you a week prior to the trip date. Volunteers must provide their own kayak or canoe\, paddling gear\, water and lunch/snacks. CRK can provide a few sit-on-top kayaks as they are available. SUMMARY:Second Saturday Sweep: Chattahoochee Cleanup Crew
DESCRIPTION:Join Us for our Second Saturday Sweep: Chattahoochee Community Cleanup! Each month\, Chattahoochee National Park Conservancy hosts a cleanup at one of the park units along Chattahoochee River National Recreation Area. It is a great way to explore more of the beautiful 66 miles of trails and 48 miles of river the National Park Service protects. Help us protect and preserve the beauty of the Chattahoochee River by participating in this community cleanup effort! We will begin our day by meeting at the trailhead in the parking lot of the CREEC Unit at 10 AM. We will walk as a group across the bridge to pick up trash along the water and trail of the CREEC Unit. All necessary supplies will be provided\, including trash pickers\, gloves\, and trash bags. This cleanup takes place in a hiking environment\, so please wear appropriate clothes and sturdy shoes suitable for outdoor activities. \nWe recommend: \n\nComfortable\, long sleeved pants and shirt\nClosed-toe shoes with good traction (hiking boots or sturdy sneakers)\nA hat and sunscreen for sun protection\n\nCome make a difference for the community and our environment.
