SUMMARY:Wildlife Sanctuary Workday with Birds Georgia @ Island Ford
DESCRIPTION:Join us for a rewarding and meaningful day of community service in the Wildlife Sanctuary! In partnership with Birds Georgia\, we will be completing varying tasks including: \n– Removing invasive species: Help us remove invasive plants that hinder the growth of native flora and harm local wildlife. \n– Native plantings: Assist in planting and nurturing native plants to create a welcoming habitat for wildlife. \n– Supporting habitat restoration: Learn about the importance of biodiversity and contribute to establishing a sanctuary for birds\, bees\, butterflies\, and other local fauna. \nWhy Volunteer? \n– Your efforts will directly contribute to the health and beauty of our wildlife sanctuary. \n– Gain valuable knowledge about invasive species\, native plants\, and wildlife habitats. \n– Connect with fellow volunteers who share your passion for nature and conservation! \nWhat to Bring: \n– Gardening gloves \n– Comfortable outdoor clothing \n– A reusable water bottle \n– A positive attitude and a willingness to get your hands dirty! \nThis volunteer workday is in partnership with Birds GA\, a nonprofit organization dedicated to the conservation and habitat protection of bird species in Georgia. \nWe welcome volunteers of all ages and skill levels. Whether you’re an experienced gardener or just eager to lend a hand\, your participation is greatly appreciated. \nThis event will take place rain or shine\, however it will be rescheduled in the event of severe weather including thunderstorms or flood warnings. Come hang out with us at Gate City Brewing for a fun evening that gives back to the trails you love! \nDuring Pints for the Park\, $1 from every drink sold will be donated to the Chattahoochee National Park Conservancy\, and this year\, your beers are doing even more good! All proceeds will go directly toward improving the Island Ford Trails\, part of a major project to make our park’s trails safer\, more sustainable\, and even more fun to explore. \nBring your friends\, sip on something local\, and help us raise a glass (and some funds) for the park we all enjoy! \nRSVP not required\, but feel free to do so.
