SUMMARY:Second Saturday Sweep: Chattahoochee Cleanup Crew
DESCRIPTION:Join Us for our Second Saturday Sweep: Chattahoochee Community Cleanup! Each month\, Chattahoochee National Park Conservancy hosts a cleanup at one of the park units along Chattahoochee River National Recreation Area. It is a great way to explore more of the beautiful 66 miles of trails and 48 miles of river the National Park Service protects. Help us protect and preserve the beauty of the Chattahoochee River by participating in this community cleanup effort! We will begin our day by meeting in the parking lot of the Indian Trail – East Palisades at 10 AM. We will walk as a group across the bridge to pick up trash along the water and trail of the East Palisades Unit. All necessary supplies will be provided\, including trash pickers\, gloves\, and trash bags. This cleanup takes place in a hiking environment\, so please wear appropriate clothes and sturdy shoes suitable for outdoor activities. \nWe recommend: \n\nComfortable\, long sleeved pants and shirt\nClosed-toe shoes with good traction (hiking boots or sturdy sneakers)\nA hat and sunscreen for sun protection\n\nCome make a difference for the community and our environment. We look forward to seeing you there! \nRegister here to attend: https://chattahoocheeparks.app.neoncrm.com/nx/portal/neonevents/events?path=%2Fportal%2Fevents%2F16617%2Fstorefront%2F103265 \n  \nA $5 Standard Pass is required for parking. \nYou can purchase a pass virtually here: https://www.nps.gov/chat/planyourvisit/fees.htm  \nParking is limited and carpooling is encouraged.

SUMMARY:NPS Ranger Program: Island Ford Pond & River Ramble
DESCRIPTION:Beat the heat and join National Park Service Ranger Jerry Hightower for a refreshing summer walk at Island Ford! We’ll explore the pond\, visit Falling Branch to uncover hidden stream life\, and stroll along the riverbank where wildlife sightings abound. Slippery rocks and mud in and along Falling Branch.
